Nursery Practitioner - Calderdale

Location: Calderdale (Halifax, Brighouse, Elland, Sowerby Bridge, and surrounding areas)

Position Type: Temporary / Supply / Flexible Hours

Pay Rate: £12.75 – £13.50 per hour (dependent on qualification level and experience) + accrued holiday pay

About the Role

Are you a qualified Early Years practitioner seeking flexibility to fit work around your family life, studies, or other commitments?

We are currently recruiting qualified Level 2 and Level 3 Nursery Practitioners to join our early years supply team supporting private day nurseries and preschools across Calderdale.

In this role, you will provide vital day-to-day, sickness, and holiday cover. You will have full autonomy over your availability—work as many or as few days each week as suits you, with advance bookings as well as same-day morning shifts available.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering high standards of care and early education following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

• Supporting permanent nursery staff with daily routines, meal times, outdoor play, and activities.

• Providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for babies and young children.

• Adhering strictly to safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies at every setting you visit.

What We Are Looking For

• Qualifications: A recognised Early Years qualification at Level 2 or Level 3 (e.g. CACHE, NVQ, NNEB, or equivalent).

• Flexibility & Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel to different nursery settings across the Calderdale borough. Access to your own transport or reliable public transport links is advantageous.

• Experience: Practical, hands-on experience working in an early years setting or nursery environment.

• Professionalism: Punctual, adaptable, and confident stepping into different team environments.

Compliance & Vetting Requirements

To comply with safer recruitment guidelines in education:

• An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered with the DBS Update Service (or willingness to complete a new check through us).

• Minimum of two satisfactory professional references (one must be from your most recent childcare or relevant employer).

• Proof of Right to Work in the UK.
