Baby Room Leader Job in Bradford | Early Years Childcare
About the Role
Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Early Years professional passionate about providing the best start in life for children? We are recruiting on behalf of a fantastic, inclusive nursery in Bradford for a dedicated Baby Room Leader.
In this vital role, you will take ownership of the baby room, leading the development of a high-quality caring, teaching, and learning environment. You will be responsible for creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere where babies can thrive, while simultaneously providing leadership, support, and mentorship to your room practitioners.
Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management: Lead, manage, and empower your room team. Implement professional development processes including supervisions, peer observations, and performance management.

Quality of Care & Education: Champion the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Lead the planning process and support practitioners to ensure children’s learning and development progress is closely monitored and encouraged.

Key Person Duties: Act as a Key Person, taking the lead on initial visits, care routines, observations, parent feedback, and transitions.

Partnerships: Build strong, communicative relationships with parents and carers to involve them in their children’s learning. Liaise effectively with other professionals and outside agencies.

Safeguarding & Compliance: Maintain a safe, legally compliant environment. Ensure all relevant paperwork (Learning Journeys, ISPs, daily records) is up to date and adhere strictly to all Safeguarding, Child Protection (including Prevent Duty), and Health & Safety policies.

Inclusive Practice: Provide an inclusive indoor and outdoor environment tailored to meet the individual needs of children from differing cultures, religious backgrounds, and stages of development.

Operational Support: Assist the Management Team in the day-to-day running of the setting, which may include opening/closing the nursery, maintaining ratios, and supporting nursery enrollment.
What We Are Looking For

Proven experience in an Early Years setting, with specific expertise and passion for working with babies.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, role-model, and delegate effectively.

In-depth, working knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework and Development Matters.

A firm understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection legislation.

A flexible, proactive team player who takes ownership of their environment and is committed to continuous professional development (CPD).
