Cook 25 hours per week
Are you a cook in south Bradford? We're looking for a reliable friendly cook to join our team!
We need your help cooking healthy traditional meals for around 15 children daily, and around 15 older people once per week. Tasty nutritious dinners like spaghetti bolognese, shepherds pie, stews and pies.
You'll be responsible for the smooth operation of our kitchen, ensuring high standards of food hygiene and safety are maintained.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and cooking nutritious meals for children and elderly individuals.
Supervising trainees, students, and volunteers in the kitchen.
Managing kitchen equipment and food stock, including daily checks and weekly stocktaking.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.
Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
Providing a weekly menu for the nursery and centre users.
Reporting any equipment breakages and completing the breakage log book.
Requirements
Proven cooking experience, with knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
Food hygiene certificate.
DBS check.
Knowledge of food allergy preparation and Safer Food, Better Business requirements.
Excellent communication skills at all levels.
Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM = 5 hours per day with half an hour break.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail and awareness of allergies.
